Assignment

Assignments are aimed to be done by teams of two students. It is supposed that teams are formed without any involvement of the teachers.

 Each assignment carries the following theme:  

Name a company with an innovative Internet eCommerce model (companies included in the cases of exam textbooks are not allowed). Use the framework of Afuah and Tucci in evaluating the success factors of the company’s eCommerce model. Also analyze the company’s eCommerce services as done in the Alter’s book figure (e.g. page 227). Explain the information and technology choices.

Length of the assignment is from 8 to 12 pages. 

Assignments must be returned not later than on November 28 th by e-mail to juha.laine@hut.fi

An accepted assignment gives 0, 2, 4 extra points for the exam depending on the quality of the assignment.

The team with the best assignment will be invited to participate in EMEA University Relations Student Recognition Event on 15-17th December 2003 at IBM UK Laboratories at Hursley Park Winchester UK.  All costs (inc. travel, accommondation and meals) will be covered by the IBM.  The program, see here.
