Role-Playing Game Campaign Pages

Foreword

We started our longest (and currently, the only one running) campaign with RuneQuest rules and a world that 'came with the package' in 1989. Over time, the world changed to a self-made one drawing inspiration from medieval Europe, and the game system was eventually rewritten by our game master to satisfy our fascination towards details and realism. However, much of the actual game mechanics are hidden from the players.

In May 2002, we started to record the story (in Finnish) from the characters' perspective to further deepen the experience. Pretty soon afterwards, we found that documenting the story and the world in an electronic format might be fun as well. Our game master, Jaakko, is responsible for creating the adventures and the world in the first place, while Jarno has, in addition to note-taking during the sessions, taken the role of the editor. The other players give a hand as well by taking turns in writing the "chapters" (based on the notes and from the game sessions) and drawing an occasional picture.

If you happen to find the stuff interesting and feel inclined to contribute to the low-fantasy medieval world-in-progress in an "open source" fashion, do not hesitate to contact Jarno (jarno.vahaniitty[at]hut.fi). Also, feel free to use our material for personal or non-profit purposes, but please do not distribute or otherwise publish anything without a written permission and a reference to the original source and copyright information. The work-in-progress version and the update backlog are password protected, and you can email me to get access.

Happy reading!
