Mar 11, 2011 - Workshop schedule updated under Workshop details.
Call for Participation
Designers are not users, and they should not design for themselves, but for the users. But what if a designer could be and experience more like a user? Would it automatically improve the quality of their designs as they could design for themselves?
We cordially invite researchers and practitioner of user-centered design and user experience to participate in a one-day CHI workshop on Designer Experience i.e. designing in the future user’s experiential system. Please submit position papers on the following topics:
- Existence and feasibility of the paradigm Designer Experience
- Methodology to invoke experiences and design in experience
- Research topics and future uses for designer experience
For more details see the workshop’s extended abstract and the workshop website.
Submit your 4-page position paper, in PDF (CHI extended abstract format), and a short bio via email to mika.nieminen (at) tkk.fi by January 14, 2011. Papers will be reviewed and selected based on their relevance to the workshop, uniqueness and ability to contribute to the discussion.
Please note that participants must register for the workshop and for at least one day of the CHI 2011 conference. Fee for a one-day workshop is about $175.
