Every phase will succeed the previous phase according to the spiral model for software development. This means that every phase in itself will contain the following subphases. The phases are not necessarily distinct, but can be partially interleaved.

1. Analysis and risk identification
2. Prototyping or implementation
3. Documentation and testing

Furthermore, every week the project will identify its top risk items and apply appropriate risk reduction techniques to them.
